Larry'S Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. milk
    12 Tbsp. butter
    3 Granny Smith apples, sliced
    1 tsp. apple pie spice
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    4 c. whipped cream
    1 c. red currant jelly
Preparation
    Use a heavy 12-inch cast-iron skillet.
    Coat the sides liberally with nonstick spray.
    Preheat skillet in a 350\u00b0 oven. In a large bowl, mix together with a wire whisk the sugar, flour and milk until thoroughly blended.
    (Do not overwork; you want it smooth and free of lumps.)
    In a separate 12-inch skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of butter to sizzling.
    Add the apples, apple pie spice and cinnamon; quickly cook them until they soften.
    (Just a few minutes; don't overcook, they should be crunchy.)
