Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 1/3 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) package chocolate bits, chopped
1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. rolled oats, (quick cooking or old fashioned)
1 1/2 c. salted peanuts, chopped
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter or margarine, slowly beat in sugars.
Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla; beat until fluffy. Sift flour with soda; add oats.
Stir into first mixture.
Stir in peanuts and chocolate bits, mixing well.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
