Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. cocoa
    2 1/4 c. plain flour
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
    Add coloring and cocoa.
    Sift flour and salt.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Do not beat soda and vinegar! Sprinkle soda on batter, then pour vinegar over batter mixture and stir well until well blended.
    Bake in 3 (9-inch) layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
