Chocolate Caramel Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
    3/4 c. oleo, softened
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Preparation
    Melt caramels and 1/3 cup milk in top of double boiler. Combine dry cake mix, remaining milk, butter and nuts; stirring until dough holds together.
    Press 1/2 of cake mixture into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake 6 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Sprinkle chocolate morsels over crust.
    Pour caramel mixture over morsels, spreading evenly.
    Crumble remaining cake mixture over caramels. Return to oven; bake 15 to 20 more minutes.
    Cool; chill 30 minutes.
    Cut into small bars.
    Yield: 5 dozen.
