Cajun Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. beans (pinto or red)
    1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
    2 bay leaves
    2 Tbsp. Cajun seasoning
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 cans Cajun style stewed tomatoes
    1 pkg. (2 rolls) Mr. Turkey sausage, cut in 1/2 x 1/4-inch pieces
    1 or 2 ham hocks
Preparation
    Wash and boil dry beans in 2 quarts of water with 2 tablespoons of soda for 15 minutes.
    Pour off water and wash beans thoroughly.
    Put beans back in pan with 2 1/2 quarts of boiling water.
    Add garlic, bay leaves, rosemary, Cajun seasoning and brown sugar.
