Karo Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. chocolate
    1/2 c. milk
    2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Grate chocolate and stir into milk.
    Add sugar and corn syrup. Cook in skillet and stir in butter.
    When chocolate has melted, allow it to cook slowly.
    When a soft ball forms in cold water, remove from heat; add vanilla and beat until the shine is off and granulation begins.
    Nuts may be added at this time, if desired. Quickly spread in buttered 8 x 8-inch pan and mark off into squares.
