Fresh Mushroom Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions, minced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2 lb. fresh mushrooms, coarsely chopped
    2 c. whipping cream
    2 c. beef broth
    1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 c. sliced almonds, toasted
    chopped fresh parsley
    1/4 c. cooking sherry (optional)
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat until onion is tender.
    Add mushrooms; cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until tender.
    Gradually add cream, broth and sherry (optional).
    Continue to cook until thoroughly heated.
    Do not boil!
