Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
5 Tbsp. water
6 medium tart juicy apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Sift flour and salt together.
Cut in shortening, 1/2 at a time.
Sprinkle over this mixture 5 tablespoons of water.
Mix with fork.
Round into a ball and let stand a few minutes.
Roll out 1/8-inch thick.
Cut into 7 squares.
