Mile High Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted flour
    4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles corn meal.
    Beat egg and add milk.
    Mix in dry ingredients with fork until dough holds together.
    Turn on a floured board; knead lightly and roll 1-inch thick.
    Cut with biscuit cutter and put on a baking sheet.
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0 and bake biscuits 10 to 12 minutes.
