Ginger Krakles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    2 eggs
    5 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 to 2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    sugar
Preparation
    Cream shortening with brown sugar, molasses and eggs until well mixed.
    Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
    Add to creamed mixture; mix well.
    Chill until dough can be handled easily, about 2 hours.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Form dough into 1-inch balls; roll each ball in sugar to coat well. Place balls 3 inches apart on cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until set but not browned.
    Makes 6 to 8 dozen.
