Peanut Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 egg (unbeaten)
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 3/4 c. flour, sifted
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars.
    Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
    Sift together the flour, soda and salt; blend in gradually.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
    Roll in sugar.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
    Remove from oven; place a solid milk chocolate kiss on top of each cookie.
    Press down so that cookie cracks around edge.
    Return to oven; bake 2 to 5 minutes longer. This recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies.
