Catfish Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pt. pressure canned catfish
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 large egg
2 Tbsp. self-rising meal
4 Tbsp. self-rising flour
1 large onion, chopped
1 medium bell pepper, chopped

Preparation

Drain
liquid off catfish and mash well.
Add remaining ingredients
and
mix well.
May have to add liquid, such as 1 tablespoon\tbuttermilk
to make mixture easier to drop in oil. Have oil
very hot; fry until brown like hush puppies.
Always serve very\thot
with
your
choice
of
catsup, shrimp dip or tartar sauce.
Makes a large amount.
