Persimmon Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. persimmon pulp
    1 c. raisins (can use chopped dates or prunes)
    1 c. chopped walnuts or chopped pecans
Preparation
    With electric mixer, cream shortening.
    Add sugar and egg and beat well.
    In separate bowl, mix together flour, spices, salt and baking soda.
    Stir flour mixture into creamed shortening mixture.
    Mix in persimmon pulp, raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls, 2-inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 3 dozen cookies.
