Cherokee Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 lb. can whole tomatoes
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/8 tsp. garlic
    1/8 tsp. oregano
    1 c. Minute rice
    3 slices American cheese
    1/4 c. chopped bell pepper (optional)
Preparation
    Brown ground beef and onion; drain excess grease.
    Stir in seasonings.
    Add tomatoes, mushroom soup and rice; mix well. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Top with cheese slices. Replace top and simmer another 2 to 3 minutes.
    Serves 4 to 5.
