Walnut Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon or allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins

Preparation

Mix sugar and spices.
Add shortening and egg; beat well. Stir in applesauce and vanilla.
Add flour with soda, salt and baking powder; beat smooth.
Add raisins and nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 in a loaf pan for 1 hour.
