Ingredients

1 c. butter (no substitutes)
1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg
grated peel of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
colored sugar
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Add the eggs, lemon peel, lemon juice and vanilla; mix well.
Stir together flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
Using a cookie press, shape into designs on ungreased cookie sheets.
Sprinkle with colored sugar.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges.
Yield: 6 dozen.
