Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn in bite size pieces
    1 c. diced celery
    6 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas (uncooked)
    1/2 c. bell pepper, diced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
    1 can water chestnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Layer each item as listed in a large casserole dish. Spread dressing to completely top salad.
