Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. white sugar
1 egg
2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
Preparation

Cream together shortening, butter and sugar.
Add well beaten egg.
Mix together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt and add to first mixture.
Mix well.
Add flavorings.
Refrigerate for awhile.
Take a teaspoon of dough and roll in palm of hand.
Place on greased cookie sheet. Put glass in sugar and press down dough. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for about 10 minutes.
