Baked Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 lb. dry small pea beans
1 c. sugar (heaping)
2 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
4 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ginger
4 1/2 Tbsp. dark Karo syrup
4 1/2 Tbsp. molasses
1/2 lb. salt pork
1 onion
hot water
Preparation

Inspect beans; wash and cover with water.
Soak overnight. In the morning, drain the beans.
Cover with fresh water; simmer for 15 minutes.
Drain and rinse with water.
Scrape and score salt pork.
You may chop onion, or bury it whole in center of beans.
Add remainder of ingredients to beans with enough water to cover.
Top with salt pork.
Bake in a 250\u00b0 oven for 8 hours.
Add water when necessary.
