Cabbage Burger Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small cabbage (2 lb. or 8 c.)
    6 slices bacon
    1 medium onion, 1/2 c.
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 can spaghetti sauce (15 oz. can)
    3 c. water
Preparation
    Shred cabbage and spread 1/2 in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Saute bacon until fat starts to cook out, drain.
    Stir onion and rice in drippings in pan, stirring constantly until onions are soft and rice is browned.
    Spoon over cabbage.
    Brown meat in same pan, spoon over rice mixture.
    Sprinkle with salt, pepper and top with cabbage.
    Heat sauce with water to boiling.
    Pour over cabbage stirring lightly with fork so sauce flows to bottom.
    Top with bacon.
    Cover.
    Bake 400\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes until rice and cabbage is tender.
    Uncover; bake 10 minutes to crisp bacon.
