Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cucumbers
    1 onion (to each quart jar)
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. salt
    1/3 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Slice thinly the cucumbers.
    Slice thin the onions and put in bottom of jar.
    Mix sugar, vinegar, salt, turmeric and mustard seed.
    Pour over cucumbers and onions.
    Keep in refrigerator. Ready in 5 to 6 days.
