Pumpkin Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    4 Tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter
    1 medium leek (white part only)
    1 lb. can/fresh pumpkin
    4 c. chicken broth
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. curry powder
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. ground white pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1 bay leaf
    1 c. half and half
Preparation
    In medium soup pot melt butter.
    Saute chopped leek and onion; stir occasionally.
    Stir in pumpkin, chicken broth, salt, spices and bay leaf.
    Bring to boil.
    Lower heat and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes.
    Remove bay leaf and puree mixture (may be frozen at this point).
    Return to pot and add half and half and cook over medium heat.
    Serve.
