Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. cocoa
1 egg
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. cold water
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix well the first 3 ingredients.
Add egg and cream well. Add boiling water, then cold water.
Sift dry ingredients together and add all at once, beating well with electric mixer.
Add vanilla.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
Can be made into cupcakes or small cake pans.
Batter is thin.
