New Year'S Eve Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 bag dry lentils
    1 lb. or more stew beef
    onion, chopped (as many as you want)
    salt and pepper to taste
    carrot, grated (optional)
    celery, grated (optional)
Preparation
    Soak lentils overnight in water covering lentils.
    Brown beef and onion in oil.
    Add water; cook until meat falls apart.
    Drain lentils and add.
    Cook for about 2 hours or more, stirring occasionally.
    Also can add grated carrot and celery.
    Add salt and pepper and more water, if needed.
