Jennie'S #1 Scratch Angel Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 egg whites (room temperature)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 c. granulated sugar
Preparation
    Separate egg whites and discard yolks.
    Let egg whites stand at room temperature while you prepare flour.
    Sift flour and powdered sugar twice.
    Mix egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar.
    Mix on low for a minute or so, then increase speed of mixer by two until mixing on high.
    When soft peaks begin to form, beat in the granulated sugar, 1/4 cup at a time.
    Beat on high until stiff peaks stand when mixer is turned off.
    Stir in (by hand) the flour mixture (just until mixed, don't overmix).
