Dixie Frankfurter Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    6 to 8 franks, sliced
    3 1/2 c. tomatoes
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 pkg. corn bread mix
Preparation
    Brown onion and franks with oil in skillet.
    Add tomatoes and simmer.
    In small bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, chili powder and thyme.
    Add water and blend well.
    Stir in tomato mixture.
    Simmer until thickened.
    Turn into 2-quart casserole dish; top with corn bread already mixed according to package directions.
    Spoon on top.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
