Marinara Sauce(Makes About 3 Cups) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 small onion
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    2 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, in oil, cook garlic and onion until tender, 5 minutes.
    Stir in tomatoes, their liquid and remaining ingredients.
    Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 20 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
    (I cook my sauce several hours and add a little water; however, it is still delicious when cooked for the 20 minutes or so.)
