Sauerkraut Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. Italian sausage, cut into 1-inch slices
1 large red onion, chopped
2 apples, peeled and quartered
2 cans sauerkraut
1 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. caraway seed
Preparation

In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender; drain.
Stir in apples, water, sauerkraut, brown sugar and caraway seed.
Transfer to a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Garnish with parsley if desired.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
