"California Clam Chowder" - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 strips bacon
    2 to 3 cloves garlic
    4 potatoes, cubed
    1 onion
    1 pt. half and half
    2 small cans tomato paste
    1 tsp. each: thyme, parsley and pepper
    4 cans clams (do not drain)
    water (enough to boil potatoes and enough to make chowder as thin as you prefer)
Preparation
    Fry diced bacon and onion.
    Add garlic; fry until onion browns.
    Put aside.
    Boil cubed potatoes until soft.
    Do not drain.
    Add to bacon mixture.
    Stir together.
    Add all other ingredients.
    Do not allow chowder to boil.
    Simmer until you feel the flavors have blended.
