Texas Tortilla Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 stick butter
    1/2 c. oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 fresh jalapeno, seeded and chopped
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    2 large carrots, diced
    6 ribs celery, diced
    1 large diced raw chicken, boned and cubed
    1 tsp. each cumin, chili powder, salt and lemon pepper
    3 tsp. Louisiana red hot pepper sauce
    1/2 c. flour
    1 (14 oz.) can tomatoes
    4 (10 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
Preparation
    Heat butter and oil. Saute onion, jalapeno, garlic, carrots, celery and chicken. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Add combined spices, flour and hot pepper sauce. Stir in tomatoes and chicken broth. Simmer 1 hour.
