Ginger Beer - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 large pieces ginger root, peeled and finely grated to a pulp
3 qt. boiling water
1 1/2 c. sugar
juice of 2 limes
Preparation

In large stockpot, combine grated ginger with the boiling water and sugar. Stir well to mix, then cover and let stand at room temperature for about 2 days. Strain the ginger beer through clean muslin and store it in a glass drink bottle in the refrigerator until it is ready to drink. Serve with ice and stir in small amount of lime juice if you wish. Makes about 3 quarts.
