Lemon Light Drop Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
    2 eggs
    1 c. lemon or plain yogurt
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (lightly spooned into measuring cup)
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    sugar or chopped nuts
Preparation
    In a large bowl, cream the sugar, shortening and lemon peel until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Add yogurt and lemon extract; mix well. Stir in flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Blend well. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle sugar or chopped nuts over tops and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Remove from cookie sheets immediately and cool.
    Makes 6 dozen.
