Lime Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    2 c. slake lime
    2 gal. water
    3 qt. vinegar
    4 lb. sugar
    1/2 box pickling spice
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers into about 1/4 to 1/2-inch slices and soak in lime water mixture for 24 hours.
    Rinse in clear water twice.
    Let stand in clear water for 2 hours.
    Bring vinegar, sugar and spices to a boil.
    Then add 1 teaspoon of salt and cucumbers.
    Simmer 3 hours.
    Pack in jars and seal.
    Makes a crisp, spicy pickle.
