"Venison Swiss Steak" - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. round steak
3 large onions
1 medium stalk celery
1 c. tomatoes
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
Preparation

Steak should be about 1 1/2-inches thick.
Dredge with flour; season with salt and pepper, then brown in table fat or suet. When brown on both sides, add the other ingredients.
Cover tightly and cook in medium oven (350\u00b0) or over low flame on top of stove until tender (about 1 1/4 hours).
Remove meat to platter and make a gravy from drippings in the pan.
Serve with baked potatoes and a green salad.
(And, of course, plenty of good black coffee.)
