Iroquois Ghost Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 heaping tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients in bowl.
    Make well in center.
    Add milk slowly, mixing to biscuit consistency.
    Knead a few times on floured board until mixture sticks together.
    Roll out 1/2-inch thick and slash opening in center (or cut with cutter for individual servings).
    Heat oil in heavy skillet (hot, but not smoking) 1/4 to 1/2-inch deep.
    Cook dough until brown on underside.
    Turn and brown other side.
    Drain on paper towels. Serve warm or hot.
    Split and spread with butter, jam, honey or maple syrup.
