Apple Cream Coffee Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream
1 medium apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
Preparation

Combine nuts, cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter; gradually add remaining sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Blend in vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition.
Spread half of batter in a well-greased 10-inch tube pan with a removable bottom.
Top with apple slices; sprinkle with half of the nut mixture.
Top with remaining batter, then remaining nut mixture.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes, until cake tests done.
Remove from oven; let stand for 30 minutes.
Loosen sides of cake.
Lift cake with removable bottom from pan; cool.
Before serving, carefully lift cake from pan. Yields 12 to 16 servings.
