Flaky Pie Crust - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. + 1 Tbsp. shortening or 1/3 c. lard
2 1/2 to 3 Tbsp. ice water
Preparation

In medium bowl, mix flour and salt.
Add shortening with pastry blender or two knives.
Mix until like coarse oatmeal. Quickly sprinkle ice water, one tablespoon at a time, tossing lightly with fork after each addition and pushing dampened portion to side.
Sprinkle only dry portion remaining in center of bowl. Pastry should be just moist enough to hold together, not sticky. Flour board.
Roll out for one 9-inch pie shell.
