Old-Fashioned Butter And Egg Pound Cake - cooking recipe

1/4 lb. butter
1 c. milk
2 c. sugar
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
pinch of salt
2 c. flour (unsifted)
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan with milk; set aside until lukewarm. Beat eggs.
Add sugar and beat.
Add flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt.
Add butter and milk mixture and beat well.
Bake in ungreased tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Turn pan upside down until cool (1 hour).
