Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    2 c. diced potatoes
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 c. cooked, cubed ham
Preparation
    Boil water; add vegetables, salt and pepper.
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Don't drain.
