Gala Cherry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can sour pie cherries (undrained)
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. sugar (less)
    2 pkg. cherry jello
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 c. ginger ale
    1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Pour cherries in saucepan.
    Add water and sugar; boil.
    Add jello; mix well.
    Stir in other ingredients.
    Pour into pan or well oiled mold.
    Refrigerate to set.
    Serves 12 to 15.
