Oatmeal Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rolled oats
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar or brown sugar or a mixture
Preparation
    Combine oats and raisins.
    Pour boiling water over oats and raisins; set aside.
    Sift flour with baking soda and spices. Cream butter with sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and vanilla; beat until blended.
    Add flour mixture alternately with oats and raisins (not drained), beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
    Blend well.
    Turn into greased 8 x 12-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
