Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
Preparation
    Separate eggs; beat egg whites, set aside.
