Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. syrup
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Mix syrup, shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Add flour gradually. Pour boiling water over soda and dissolve.
    Add to mixture.
    Add pecans.
    Bake in a well-greased and floured pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
