Potato-Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 sliced, peeled potatoes
    2 onions, chopped small
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    2 to 3 c. milk
    salt and pepper
    1/4 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Cook potatoes and onions until soft; drain most of the water off.
    Add milk and seasonings (to cover 2/3 of mixture).
    On low heat, let simmer until hot.
    With low speed of mixer, mix 3 minutes.
    Add cheese to garnish.
