Congo Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 to 2/3 c. shortening, melted
1 lb. brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 c. nuts
Preparation

Melt shortening; mix with brown sugar. Beat; add all other ingredients. Put in a shallow pan. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0. Cut while warm.
