Anise Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1 tsp. anise oil
    1 tsp. red food coloring
Preparation
    Mix sugar and white syrup in saucepan.
    Bring to a boil and boil to hard crack stage (when drips solidify quickly).
    Remove from heat and quickly add anise oil and food coloring.
    Quickly pour into a 9 x 12-inch greased pan.
    Let cool slightly and cut into squares.
