Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2 green peppers, cut into strips
    2 lb. beef (round or sirloin tips)
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    2 c. tomatoes
    1 beef bouillon cube, crushed
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
    3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Melt butter; add onion and green pepper.
    Saute about 2 minutes.
    Remove and set.
    Add beef (cut into 1/2 x 2-inch strips); sprinkle with garlic powder and saute, stirring slightly, until browned.
    Add tomatoes and bouillon cubes.
    Simmer about 10 minutes.
    Blend together cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar and salt.
    Stir into meat mixture and cool just until thickened.
    Add onion and green pepper; heat thoroughly.
    Serve over buttered rice.
