New England Cham Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. clams
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 c. clam juice and water
    dash of pepper
    1/2 c. chopped bacon or salt pork
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. canned milk
Preparation
    Drain clams; save the juice, then chop clams.
    Fry bacon until lightly browned.
    Add onion; cook until tender.
    Add juice, potatoes, seasonings and clams.
    Cook for about 15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
    Add milk; heat.
    Serves 6.
