1 1/2 c. hot water
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped pecan nuts
Preparation

Place 1 1/2 cups hot water and 1 cup brown sugar in saucepan; bring to rolling boil and set syrup aside.
In bowl mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and butter.
Slowly add milk to make a smooth batter; add vanilla, dates and pecans.
Pour batter into glass bread pan and pour syrup over top of batter. Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden brown. on the bottom of the pan.
