Rhubarb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening or margarine
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    2 c. raw rhubarb
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Mix well.
    Add vanilla, flour, soda and buttermilk.
    Alternate flour and buttermilk while mixing.
    Fold in 2 cups raw rhubarb.
    Bake in greased 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
